Hot and sticky.

No, that’s not the name of a ‘70s disco band. It’s what the weather will  feel like in the Santa Clarita Valley for the next several days, starting on Sunday when humidity levels will rise as monsoonal moisture pushes into the Southern California region, forecasters said.

“We’re seeing a flow of moisture coming in from the east and southeast that’s affecting the area,” National Weather Service meteorologist David Sweet said Saturday. “It’s going to feel more humid over the next several days, starting on Sunday and continuing through at least Thursday.”

Increasing moisture also will bring a slight chance of thundershowers over the San Gabriel Mountains and Southern California’s deserts, he said.

Temperatures also will be on the rise, along with the humidity, with the high predicted to reach 99 degrees in Saugus on Sunday, the NWS’ website said.

Hot and humid conditions are pretty much par for the course for this time of year, Sweet said.

“This is pretty normal,” said Sweet.
