Stay Green, Gothic Landscape and Gothic Grounds Management have been named the nation's top 100 list by Lawn & Landscape.

Three Santa Clarita landscape companies have been named to the nation’s top 100 list by Lawn & Landscape.

Stay Green, Gothic Landscape and Gothic Grounds Management were each recognized as being leaders based on earnings reported by the companies for 2013.

The Santa Clarita firms are all family businesses.

Gothic Landscape of Valencia reported $102 million in earnings and 1,200 employees last year. Gothic Grounds Management of Santa Clarita had 500 employees and recorded nearly $28.5 million in revenue.

With more than $16.5 million in revenue last year, Stay Green is one of 14 California companies to make the list – three of which operate locally. The company had 232 employees.

“It is a real honor to be included on this list again,” said Stay Green CEO Chris Angelo. “At the end of the day, we do excellent work because our clients deserve it, not to receive notoriety. But this kind of recognition is a warm reminder of the good job we’re doing and inspires us to keep working hard.”

Founded in 1971, Stay Green just recently invested $300,000 for a new fleet of 35 propane-powered riding mowers that have drastically reduced emissions.
