Restaurants participating in the week of food sampling by diners included Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, Sabor Cocina, Wolf Creek, Salt Creek Grille, Newhall Refinery, Pieology, Persia, Pho Sure, Rustic Burger, Rustic Eatery, Fishtail, Carusos II and Olive Terrace Café – formerly George's Bistro.

Santa Clarita’s Restaurant Week debuted last week with a collection of 13 restaurants participating in the first annual event.

Offering diners specially priced lunch and dinner menus, the event ran from June 22 through June 27.

“It was definitely a good thing and I liked that the chamber was involved,” said Alex Rush, owner of three of the restaurants that participated – Rustic Burger, Rustic Eatery and Fish Tail Seafood Grill.

For a flat fee, diners had the opportunity to sample an appetizer, entrée desert and drink at many of the restaurants.

A joint effort by the SCV Chamber of Commerce and Signal Multimedia, the restaurants participating in the week of food sampling by diners included Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, Sabor Cocina, Wolf Creek, Salt Creek Grille, Newhall Refinery, Pieology, Persia, Pho Sure, Rustic Burger, Rustic Eatery, Fishtail, Carusos II and Olive Terrace Café – formerly George’s Bistro.

“We had a really nice weekend and loved the exposure,” said Greg Amsler.

Some of the diners who came in may have also come in because of the special promotion, but then chose to order from the regular menu, he said.

Both Rush and Amsler said the event is a good idea that needs to keep growing.
