Jesse Rebel was sentenced to 92 days in Los Angeles County jail for parental abduction.

A man arrested for parental abduction after he was found in Louisiana with his daughter, a 2-year-old Castaic girl missing for two months, is now serving a 92-day sentence in Los Angeles County jail, a D.A. spokesman said Tuesday.

Jesse Rebel, 32, appeared in San Fernando Superior Court on May 28 and entered a plea of no contest to a charge of child custody deprivation, District Attorney’s office spokesman Ricardo Santiago said.

Rebel was immediately sentenced to 92 days in Los Angeles County jail and five years formal probation, Santiago said.

On Jan. 29, Rebel was found living with his daughter in a Louisiana mobile home park inside a newly purchased RV, Deputy Chief Horace Womack of the DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office in Mansfield, La., told The Signal at the time of the arrest.

Rebel was arrested during a routine traffic stop in Louisiana, taken into custody there and charged with parental abduction.

Soon after his arrest, Rebel waived his extradition rights, clearing the way for Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies to bring him back to California.

Shae Rebel was found safely buckled in her car seat inside an RV after the vehicle was stopped for having expired licence plates, Womack said.

The little girl, whose name and photo remained posted these last two months on the website for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, was placed in the care of the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services until she could be reunited with her mother.

The girl’s mother, Brandi, who lives in Castaic, took a plane to Louisianna on the day Shae was found and brought her back to the Santa Clarita Valley, Womack said in February. She had been taken by her father in November 2013.
