Valencia, Zone 5, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information

During the past week, the criminal incidents reported in Valencia included, residential burglary, vehicle burglary, grand theft and shoplifting reports from local businesses.

An attempt residential burglary occurred on the 26700 block of Bouquet Canyon Road at 6:00 pm. The victim indicated that he came home and observed that the outer hallway door to his residence had been pried by an unknown object. No entry was made to the home. There were no witnesses or suspects located at the time of the incident.

A vehicle burglary occurred at the 24400 block of Valencia Boulevard between the hours of 10:30 pm to 12:00 am. The vehicle was parked in an underground parking structure. Entry/exit was made by smashing the front passenger window with an unknown object. The item stolen was a pack of cigarettes which was left on the front passenger seat.

A grand theft of a bicycle occurred on the 20400 block of Valencia Boulevard between the hours of 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. The bicycle was secured to a bike rack which was located in a shopping parking lot. When the victim returned, he found that the lock off the bicycle had been cut with an unknown object.

Please do not become a victim! Use caution and be cognizant of your surroundings. Do not leave items visible in your vehicle. Take all personal belongings with you when you exit your vehicle or secure items in locked trunks. Do not leave items on floorboards, underneath vehicle seats or cover them with clothing apparel or blankets. Thieves know this technique.

Remember to roll up all windows and lock doors before walking away from your vehicle. Keep the serial numbers of electronic items, such as cell phones, lap tops, IPads, on file in the event that it is stolen to aid its recovery. If you see any suspicious activity, please call the Sheriff’s Station immediately at 661-255-1121. There were multiple arrests made this past week by proactive Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area. Arrests included robbery, under the influence of alcohol and shoplifting from local businesses.
