Pollsters believe Hart is a good softball team.

They also feel that defending CIF-Southern Section Division I champion Valencia is solid.

But they also seem to think that Norco’s a little bit better.

In the latest Division I poll, Norco leapfrogged Hart for the No. 1 ranking, as Mater Dei tumbled to No.4.

That put Hart and Valencia at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively.

Like Hart and Valencia, Norco’s a hefty name in the Southern Section.

Norco won the 2006 Division II title and was ranked No. 16 in the country in 2007 before falling to Hart in the Division I semifinals.

The Cougars are currently 19-2 and 5-1 in the Big Eight League.

They have also won 13 straight games and have not surrendered more than two runs in any game this season.

In baseball, West Ranch is No. 3 in the Division I poll, still staring up at Edison of Huntington Beach and Mater Dei of Santa Ana, which maintains the No. 1 spot.

The Wildcats defeated Saugus twice last week, knocking the Centurions to third in the Foothill League.

At 6-1, West Ranch holds a one-game lead over Valencia in the Foothill League standings.

Valencia is not ranked.

The Valencia volleyball team, though, is at No. 7 again in the Division II poll, as Laguna Beach sits at No. 1.

Vikings tennis also didn’t see any movement, staying at No. 6, as Brentwood is No. 1.
