Investigators with the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office have identified the Sun Valley man killed last week after his big rig jack-knifed on Interstate 5 near Pyramid Lake.

The driver was identified as 53-year-old Bradley Dwayne Flack.

Flack died Thursday when his 2003 Freightliner truck rolled on its right side, sparking a fire that engulfed the truck, according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. Jim Mair.

“His death was accidental,” Lt. Fred Corral said Monday. “He died from the combined effect of blunt force traumatic injuries.”

According to Mair, Flack took evasive action when the driver of a 2002 Lincoln Town Car swerved abruptly toward the track while traveling about 65 mph. The Town Car nearly collided with the big rig, he said.

The driver of the Town Car, who suffered minor injuries, has been identified as 25-year-old Davonte T. Carr of San Jose. No one was arrested in the crash.

An investigation into the truck crash will continue.
