The ninth annual Our Lady of Perpetual Help Teabags Luncheon and Garden Tour will be held Sunday, April 26 at the Valencia home of Sally Coss.

The event, organized by the OLPH Teabags, benefits a variety of nonprofits throughout the community.

"We give to the home delivered meals program at the SCV Senior Center, the SCV homeless shelter and to St. Vincent DePaul in addition to the building fund at OLPH," said Coss. "Last year we gave $2,000 for the home delivered meals program and $1,000 to the homeless shelter. We also gave $2,800 to St. Vincent De Paul. We raise funds to help the community."

Coss said her spectacular garden hasn't "popped" yet, but she expects the garden will still be "beautiful" for the tea.

"It won't be as full as I would have liked, but if we have a week of hot weather it will really start blooming," she said.

Coss' garden features more than 350 rose bushes, lavender, berries, fruit trees and hundreds of perennials.

The event features a luncheon of savories and desserts and special Palm Court tea from Harney and Sons.

"Harney and Sons recommended we serve the Palm Court tea," said Coss.

The tea was designed for the famous Palm Court Room in New York's Plaza Hotel by Harney and Sons, a well known maker of fine teas.

"We'll also have our wonderful homemade scones lemon curd and ollalieberry jam," said Coss.

The event also offers a large variety of savories and sweets.

"There will be a few new ones this year," said Coss. "Every year I try to get a few new things."

The annual Our Lady of Perpetual Help Teabags will host the annual Tea and Garden Tour at the Valencia home of Sally Coss on Sunday, April 26. An elegant afternoon of tea, savories, desserts and views of a beautiful garden. Tickets are $50 each. For tickets call Wendy (661) 254-2350 or Ida (661) 259-1367.
