A North Hollywood man charged in the death of a woman who fell from a moving vehicle onto the Foothill Freeway last August has been ordered to stand trial, according to a spokeswoman with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.

On Tuesday, Ricardo Jimenez, 26, appeared in San Fernando Superior Court on Tuesday and was ordered to stand trial on all charges, spokesman Ricardo Santiago.

He’s due to be arraigned June 24, Santiago said.

The criminal complaint against Jimenez includes a special allegation that a knife was used in the commission of the offense. He remains in custody with bail set at more than $1 million.

Prosecutors have identified the victim only as Maria J., whom they say was seen falling from a car onto the eastbound 210 Freeway in Sylmar Aug. 29, 2013.

She was hit by several vehicles, Deputy District Attorney Carolyn McNary said at the time.

Media reports identified the victim as Maria Josefina Jimenez and reported she and the defendant were in a dating relationship.
