Three people were hurt, two of them taken to the hospital, following a multi-vehicle lunchtime crash today near an In-N-Out in the Santa Clarita Valley, a Fire Department spokesman said.

Shortly before noon, paramedics responded to reports of a traffic collision involving three vehicles at the intersection of Chiquella Lane and The Old Road, fire Capt. Tom Richards said — an area of Stevenson Ranch known as “Hamburger Hill.”

“The call started out as a traffic collision with person trapped,” he said.

The crash involved a silver-colored Ford Mustang, a gold-colored minivan and a water truck, according to California Highway Patrol officers.

Firefighters used hydraulic sheers to cut through metal to free a woman trapped in the Mustang, said photographer Rick McClure, who witnessed some of the rescue.

The woman was taken from the scene in an ambulance to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, he said.

A second person, whose gender, age and identity were not disclosed, was taken in a separate ambulance to the same hospital.

One of the three people hurt appeared to refuse medical treatment, McClure said.
