The Castaic School District is hosting its fourth annual golf tournament at the Vista Valencia Golf Course today in order to raise funds for student programs.

The tournament in 2007 raised funds for a computer lab at Castaic Elementary School. This year, the tournament's revenue will help pay for a computer lab at Live Oak Elementary School.

Participation in the tournament is down this year, according to Anna Villano, president of the Castaic Union Educational Foundation. After the deadline of March 21, about 70 players have signed up, fewer than last year, and registration fees and sponsorships will bring less money as well.

After expenses, Villano expects that $12,000 to $13,000 will be brought in, several thousand less from last year. For information call (661) 713-1970.
