The official arrival of summer is just weeks away. If you listen closely, you will soon be able to hear kids all over town chanting that classic phrase: “school’s out for summer!”

However, behind every kid joyfully welcoming the break from homework, alarm clocks and pop quizzes is a parent wondering, “How am I going to keep them busy?”

The city’s popular Camp Clarita provides a variety of day camp programs that help keep Santa Clarita kids active and engaged throughout the summer months with activities such as games, crafts, swimming, sports, skits, field trips and more.

The program allows campers the opportunity to meet other children their age, outside their typical school crowd, widening their social circle and creating new friendships in the process.

Camp Clarita offers traditional day camp programs for elementary-aged kids, as well as other unique camps geared toward preschool-aged children.

Additionally, camp programs like the popular Voyager Camp provide action-packed schedules and daily excursions for kids and teens ages 11-15.

Each camp program is specifically geared to a different age group, allowing campers to stay engaged, active and energized with age-appropriate programs during the summer.

For example, “Wee Folks Camp” provides campers 3 years to 4 years of age with fun activities including games, crafts, water play and music while developing social skills and making new friends.

The program is offered 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays at Canyon Country Park and Newhall Park.

“Little Folks Camp” is a great option for children ages 4 years to 5 years. It provides a creative environment that promotes development and socialization through daily activities like storytelling, games, crafts, water play, music and dance.

Little Folks Camp is offered 9 a.m.–1 p.m. on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays or Tuesdays/Thursdays at Canyon Country Park and Valencia Glen Park.

Teens ages 11-15 will really enjoy “Voyager Camp,” which provides the unique opportunity for campers to make new friends and gain responsibility while attending daily field trips to local SoCal hot spots like City Walk, TMZ Tour of Hollywood, Lucky Strike, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Raging Waters, Harbor Cove Beach and more.

Campers tour field trip destinations in groups of four or more and are held accountable for checking in with staff at designated times throughout the day.

Voyager Camp is offered 7 a.m.–6 p.m. on Monday–Friday, Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays or Tuesdays/Thursdays at Santa Clarita Park and Valencia Meadows Park.

Advance enrollment for Camp Clarita is required and is now open at CampClarita.com.
