Santa Clarita to Recognize 2014 National Cancer Survivors Day

The American Cancer Society promotes cancer awareness, gives individuals and

communities an opportunity to fight back against the cancer, and society’s mission of saving lives and creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

On Sunday, June 1, thousands of people around the world will unite to celebrate

National Cancer Survivors Day 2014. The American Cancer Society will join in this celebration of life which provides an opportunity for cancer survivors to connect with other survivors, celebrate milestones, and recognize the healthcare providers, family, and friends who have supported them along the way. On National Cancer Survivors Day 2014, cancer survivors across the globe will to stand together to show the world what life after cancer looks like.

The City of Santa Clarita will support this celebration by providing us with a proclamation that celebrates Cancer survivors on June 1, 2014. Whether you are in treatment or in remission, The American Cancer Society invites survivors to join in by helping fill the Council Chambers.

The American Cancer Society invites friends & family and asks survivors to wear their survivor shirt. Join the Santa Clarita City Council Meeting on May 27, 2014 at 6:00pm. The meeting will take place at the Council Chambers located at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Santa Clarita, CA 91355
