Local sheriff’s deputies conducting an early morning probation/parole sweep Thursday arrested two men at two of four locations, a deputy involved in the sweep said.

“An operation was conducted by the Crime Prevention Unit,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “We do these things on a regular basis.”

A 59-year-old Canyon Country man was arrested following the search of a residence carried out in the 27000 block of Isabella Parkway near Soledad Canyon Road. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing concentrated cannabis, a felony, Dubin said.

At a separate location, deputies arrested a 30-year-old Canyon Country man on suspicion of burglary and of possessing drug paraphernalia, the deputy said.

“The burglary charge stems from a theft that was reported by Walmart on The Old Road,” Dubin said.

When deputies searched the man’s home on the 19800 block of Emmett Road north of Via Princessa, they found what they believe is drug paraphernalia.

Both men remain in custody at the local sheriff’s jail.
