A 20-year-old man found guilty in December of spray-painting sexually explicit graffiti on at least three vehicles and a Valencia home was placed on three years probation Wednesday after serving 28 days in jail, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said.

Jake Stanley Heffernan, 20, of Valencia appeared in San Fernando Superior Court for a progress report on the sentence handed down in December.

After entering a plea of no contest to one felony count of vandalism causing more than $400 in damage for the graffiti, Heffernan was sentenced in December to 28 days in jail, three years of formal probation and was ordered to pay $280 in restitution, according to District Attorney officials.

“Heffernan completed restitution and other terms of the sentence, so the felony vandalism count was reduced to a misdemeanor,” D.A. spokesman Ricardo Santiago said. “He’s now on summary probation for three years on this case.”

In a separate case, Heffernan also pleaded no contest Wednesday to a charge of trespassing in connection with an incident in November when he was arrested for being illegally inside a home in the 28000 block of Liana Lane in Valencia.

Heffernan was ordered to remain in “live-in rehab” for the trespassing case, Santiago said.

In the vandalism case, Heffernan was arrested Oct. 16 on suspicion of vandalism resulting in more than $400 in damage. According to the complaint, he defaced a Mercedes E350 car, a Ford pickup truck and a Chevrolet Suburban SUV all belonging to the same family, as well as the wall of a house, an electrical box and a utility box owned by Santa Clarita.

“The vandalism was very graphic,” said one resident of the North Park neighborhood where the crime took place.
