...PROLONGED PERIOD OF HOT AND VERY DRY CONDITIONS NEXT WEEK WITH POTENTIAL RECORD HEAT TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY......GUSTY SANTA ANA WINDS AND EXTREME FIRE DANGER TO IMPACT SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA AT TIMES THROUGH THURSDAY...NORTHEAST SANTA ANA WINDS WILL AFFECT MUCH OF THE COASTAL AND VALLEYAREAS THIS MORNING.THE SANTA ANA WINDS WILL BRING A WARMING AND DRYING TREND TO THEAREAS TODAY WITH HIGHS GENERALLY CLIMBING INTO THE 80S ACROSS INLANDAREAS. A STRONG UPPER LEVEL HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL THEN BUILD OFFTHE COAST CALIFORNIA ON MONDAY AND REMAIN NEARLY STATIONARYTHROUGH THURSDAY. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH THE PERSISTENT OFFSHOREFLOW NEAR THE SURFACE WILL LIKELY BRING A PROLONGED PERIOD OF HOT AND VERY DRY CONDITIONS TO THE AREA. IN FACT...RECORD HEAT WILL BEPOSSIBLE TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.WARMEST COASTAL AND VALLEY LOCATIONS ARE EXPECTED TO CLIMB INTO THELOWER TO MID 90S ON MONDAY...NUDGING UPWARD INTO THE MID TO UPPER90S BY TUESDAY. THE HOTTEST DAYS OF THIS EARLY SEASON HEAT WAVE AREEXPECTED TO BE WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...WHEN SOME COASTAL AND VALLEYLOCATIONS ARE FORECASTED TO REACH 100 DEGREES.CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY ON SUNDAY AND MONDAYACROSS THE MOUNTAINS AND VALLEYS OF LOS ANGELES AND VENTURACOUNTIES...WHERE A RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT.
