Detectives are seeking the identity of a female who they believe was an upskirt photo victim. Once the victim is identified this case will be presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration and prosecution. The unknown female left the location without making a purchase, and probably does not even know she was a victim.

On Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at approximately 5:50pm Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Deputies responded to, “Kohl’s” located at 24200 Valencia Blvd, Santa Clarita. Deputies were alerted to an adult male taking video and/or photos up women’s skirts as they were shopping. “Upskirt” refers to the practice of making unauthorized photographs under a woman's skirt.

Loss prevention employees employed by Kohl’s were extremely proactive in finding and identify the male adult suspect when a loss prevention employee discovered the male upskirting a female customer and apparently taking photos / videos. With help from loss prevention employees, deputies detained the male suspect pending further investigation. Ultimately the Kohl’s employee placed the suspect (a 35-year-old male from Green Valley) under Private Person’s (Citizen’s) Arrest for the unlawful photographing for sexual gratification.

The female that detectives are looking to speak with is described as African American or Hispanic, approximately 30 to 40 years old. She was wearing a dress with a black and white pattern ending at the knee, with black boots. She carried a large purse that was brown and tan in color. She was inside Kohl’s location at approximately 5:50pm on Wednesday. If you believe the female described above could be you, please contact Detective Campbell at 661-255-1121 or at

This is all the information that is available at this time, as this is an active investigation. Photographs of the female victim and the mug shot photograph of the suspect will not be made available.
