Under the sprawling branches of oak trees in Saugus' Central Park, the half-acre Youth Grove has 73 pillars that mimic tree stumps, representing lives of young Santa Clarita residents that were cut short in auto-related crashes.

A monument inscribed with a "Know More" vow encourages young drivers to learn about safe driving habits and to also pledge "no more" lives will be lost.

The grove was the scene of Monday's "Evening of Remembrance" honoring the memories of the 73 dead.
