It’s time for round two of College of the Canyons’ Spring Job & Career Fairs.

Job seekers are invited to COC’s Canyon Country campus from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday to meet and greet potential employers — both on location and virtually.

“Our goal is to connect job-seekers with job openings,” said Anthony Michaelides, director of career services at COC.

“In a perfect world, if our goal was met, there would be interviews within the next week and a lot of people employed,” he said Monday.

Hundreds attended a similar fair held on COC’s main campus in partnership with The Signal and KHTS last month, Michaelides said.

He said businesses at job fairs aren’t as likely to hire on the spot as they were in the past, so he encourages fair attendees to apply online, before the event, with companies that will be in attendance.

The fair is, however, an opportunity to make an impression, he added.

Around 30 businesses and agencies were registered for the free event Wednesday at COC’s Carl A. Rasmussen Amphitheater as of Monday.

Those registered include AT&T, Six Flags Magic Mountain, the U.S. Marines and Gymnastics Unlimited, among others.
“This will be a great opportunity for job seekers,” Michaelides said.

Job searchers, according to an event flyer, should “dress for success” and bring copies of their resumes to the fair, which will also include two workshops and a “virtual corner” of online information for companies that can’t attend in person.

The COC Canyon Country campus is located at 17200 Sierra Highway.
