Today I stopped and watched the kids at the new skate park at the Sports Complex off Golden Valley Road. There were a lot of kids and all seemed to be having a great time. Only a very few were wearing any safety gear.

I remember reading or hearing that safety gear would be a requirement. What happened? The gate was open and I did not see anybody from the city. They may have been there but I did not see them.

My concern is with liability. Is the city liable if someone gets hurt?

Will my tax dollars be used to pay for the injured person's (medical expenses) because the city did not enforce safety equipment requirements?

I hope not!
