Valencia, Zone 5, Public Safety and Crime Prevention Information

During the past week, the criminal incidents reported in Valencia included domestic violence, grand theft auto, petty theft, and numerous shoplifting from various businesses.

A domestic violence occurred in the parking lot at the 23200 block of Valencia Boulevard at 6:30 pm. The victim had an argument with her boyfriend during which he punched her in the face and attempted to strangle her. Witnesses got involved and immediately contacted the Sheriff’s Department. The boyfriend/suspect was arrested at the scene without incident and transported to the Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Department for booking. The victim was treated for minor injuries.

Two grand theft autos occurred at 24200 block of Valencia Boulevard during the hours of 12:30 pm and 10:00 pm. One vehicle was a 1988 Volk/Cabrio and the other one was a 2005 Chevy/Tahoe, both which were parked in a parking structure. A third vehicle was stolen from 23000 block of Frisca Drive at 12:45 hours. The vehicle, a 2000 Chevy/Silverado, was parked in front of the victim’s residence.

A petty theft of an IPhone occurred at 26400 Rockwell Canyon Road at 11:00 am. The victim left his IPhone on the counter, unattended, inside a restroom. No witness or suspect was located.

Please use caution and be cognizant of your surroundings. Do not leave items unattended in public areas or visible in your vehicle. Keep the serial numbers of electronic items, such as cell phones, lap tops, IPads, on file in the event that it is stolen to aid its recovery.
