To the Editor:

I would like to thank you for Tammy Marashlian's March 15 insightful article about Moms in Touch in the Santa Clarita Valley. This prayer ministry, uniting moms in prayer for their children and their schools, is life-changing, both for our children and for us moms.

I started praying for my two kids at a Moms in Touch group when they were in first and third grade at Wiley Canyon Elementary, and I'm still meeting with other moms to pray together every other week now that my kids are off to grad schools. God has been so faithful in guiding my two guys through school and through life's ups and downs, and both appreciate God's blessings in their lives.

Moms in Touch has facilitated friendships with other moms as we lift our children and their needs to God together on each others' behalf.

It has been a privilege to pray for the school teachers, administrators and coaches who have had such a positive impact on our kids, too.

And Moms in Touch has revolutionized my own conversations with God.

The adoration time taught me to remember to enjoy His presence with awe and not just rush in with my to-do list of things which need His assistance. Some requests remain the same throughout the years:
diligence in studies, safety, excellent recall on exams, blessings on the teachers/professors in their challenging task of educating the next generation.

And some requests change over time: playground bullies, adjusting to junior high school, first driving lessons, dating, college applications and acceptances, even marriage proposals!

I find the more I talk to God about specific things and then see His divine orchestrations in answer to prayer, the more confidence I have to depend on Him for whatever the future holds. Life is tough, but God is good!

I'm very glad that Moms in Touch came to the Santa Clarita valley. I imagine I would have prayed for my kids while they were growing up, but the regular accountability and encouragement of praying alongside other moms has been wonderful for me and my family. I highly recommend it!
