The race for Buck McKeon’s congressional seat

I think it’s great that there are a lot of people running to replace Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon.

I want to say that I thought McKeon did a good job. I’m a Democrat, and Howard P. “Buck” McKeon is a Republican, but he did a good job for the people since 1993.

What’s really important is doing a good job of representing the people. It’s a privilege to serve the people in this way.

All too often, people get elected to office and are quickly seduced by corporations, lobbyists, and special interests.

Then there is all the graft and corruption going on at the capital of our country.

Some congressmen make $8 million to $10 million a year just in contributions.

Speaker of the House John Boehner has received up to $8 million a year. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has received even more. However, Harry Reid’s son, Rory Reid, has brokered deals with the Chinese government worth millions.

Boehner and Reid have had their snouts in the public trough for too long!

Now more than ever we need politicians who are honest and know what the word “ethics” means. Ethics just comes down to knowing right from wrong — there’s no gray area.

Politicians must serve the people, and they must genuinely care for the people.

If you don’t feel any of the candidates don’t understand honesty, ethics or care about the people, then write in someone else’s name when voting.
