Two local water officials — one representing wholesale services and one representing retail — will be panelists Thursday for the L.A. Water Summit presented by the Building Industry Association of Southern California.

Castaic Lake Water Agency General Manager Dan Masnada will be one of three panelists on the wholesale water agency panel, and Valencia Water Company General Manager Keith Abercrombie will be one of three on the retail water agency panel.

Masnada will be joined by representatives from the Metropolitan Water District and from the Antelope Valley East Kern district. Abercrombie will be joined by panelists from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and L.A. County Waterworks.

The morning event, which begins with a breakfast at 8 a.m., aims to answer the question “Where is the water and will it keep flowing?”

A special presentation will be made on “Water Conservation in Action.” The event is scheduled at the Odyssey Restaurant, 15600 Odyssey Drive in Granada Hills.
