City officials will hold a ceremony Thursday to induct film legends Steve McQueen and Charles Bronson into the Walk of Western Stars in Newhall.

The event is part of the 21st annual Cowboy Festival on the weekend of April 26 and 27. It will be followed by a Senses street party in Newhall with the theme “Rockin’ Rodeo.”

“The city of Santa Clarita takes great pride in its rich Western culture,” said Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste. “Our annual Cowboy Festival and famed Walk of Western Stars are just two ways we pay tribute to our Western roots, and we hope the community joins us in celebrating these two talented men with this year’s induction ceremony.”

Bronson appeared in the Western films “The Dirty Dozen,” “Once Upon a Time in the West,” “Red Sun” and “The Magnificent Seven,” which also featured McQueen.

One of the best-known actors of his time, McQueen starred in the classics “The Thomas Crown Affair” and “The Great Escape.”

The induction ceremony will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at 24322 Main Street in Newhall, followed by the street party in the same area.
