A 20-year-old Canyon Country man arrested Wednesday after a brief chase through Canyon Country faces a count of felony vandalism, a spokesman for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to reports of a man spray-painting a wall in the area of Whites Canyon Road and Delight Street, said Sgt. Cortland Myers.

“He was spray-painting graffiti on a wall,” he said, adding the graffiti was not gang related.

Deputies dispatched to the scene tracked the suspect through an area that extended to Pleasantdale Street, four blocks from the scene of the tagging, Myers said.

They returned to the Sheriff’s Station shortly after 4:30 p.m. with one suspect in custody, Myers said.

The suspect was arrested for felony vandalism causing more than $400 damage.
