Hart senior Destinney Duron was honored nationally by a prep and college soccer website.

Hart High soccer standout Destinney Duron was named to the Best XI team for the month of March.

Top Drawer Soccer covers college and high school soccer, both boys and girls, nationwide, and according to the website “is now the official provider of college and club scores for over 100,000 players and 5,000 teams, ranks over 3,000 players, hosts the nationwide TDS Combine Series and produces the yearly College Soccer Recruiting Guide.”

The March Best XI is the first of a monthly series that will honor a selection of the nation’s best talent on the boys and girls sides.

“It’s really cool,” said Duron of being named to the team. “I’m definitely thankful to be on there. Being named as one of the top players out here just makes me want to work harder.”

Duron, a commit to Cal State Northridge, was a leader on a Hart girls soccer team that reached the CIF-Southern Section Division II championship game. It was the team’s first sectional title game appearance since 1999.

While Hart lost 3-2 to Chino Hills, Duron didn’t waste any time getting back onto the field.

Since her season at Hart ended, Duron has been playing with her Elite Clubs National League team, Real So Cal.

They are currently 12-1-1 and sit atop the Southwest Conference standings.

“There’s always room for improvement,” Duron said. “I want to keep doing what I’m doing and get as good as I can.”
