Deputies were searching Wednesday evening for two men who committed an armed robbery in a parking lot outside a convenience store in Saugus.

The robbery occurred shortly after 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the 7-Eleven located on the corner of Bouquet Canyon Road and Urbandale Avenue.

One of the men reportedly demanded money from a woman who was inside her car in the parking lot outside the store, Sheriff's Department officials said. He also reportedly threatened her with a semi-automatic handgun.

According to officials, the man pointed the handgun at the victim's head and stole cash from her purse. However, no injuries were reported.

The amount of money stolen was not released.

Both suspects allegedly fled the convenience store in a black Ford Expedition.

Deputies pursued the suspects, who apparently fled west on Urbandale Avenue and were not caught.

Both suspects - one Hispanic and one African-American - were male and approximately 30 years old. According to investigators, the male Hispanic is 5 feet 6 inches tall, approximately 190 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

No information was available on the African-American suspect, who was allegedly the driver of the getaway vehicle.

Anyone with information about the suspects should call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
