Valencia graduate Alison Lee worked her way up the leaderboard on Saturday in the third round of the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage.

She put together a round of 2-under 70, which was her best of the tournament so far, to move to 3-over and tied for 47th place in the first LPGA major of the season.

This is Lee’s fifth appearance in an LPGA major — three U.S. Women’s Opens and two Kraft Nabisco — at just 19 years old. She’s competing as an amateur as she is a freshman for the UCLA women’s golf team.

So far this week, she’s the third-best amateur of 10 total competing in the Kraft Nabisco.

Lee carded rounds of 75 and 74 in her first two rounds on Thursday and Friday, which was good enough to make the 36-hole cut into the weekend.

She played the Kraft Nabisco once before in 2012 and missed the cut after rounds of 79 and 76 on the same course.

This week things are going considerably better for Lee, who birdied three holes and recorded just one bogey on Saturday.

Through the first two rounds, Lee carded just one birdie.

The tournament is co-led by Michelle Wie and Lexi Thompson (both at 10-under) after three rounds. The final round takes place today and can be viewed beginning at 2 p.m. on The Golf Channel.

Lee tees off at 10:18 a.m.
