Steve Lunetta, loved your "Torn over teachers" column (March 30). I read The Signal daily but rarely respond. I want to thank your for such a well-informed commentary. I was also a victim of a layoff, in my 60s, (and) can't possibly absorb additional tax increases.

However, the teachers and educators in my life formed me to who I am today, (with) two great adult kids (both have college degrees) doing well.
