Where's the courage?

The liberals are having a field day trying to convince people that first, there is no socialism and second, that someone has to think for the masses (aka Larry King on CNN the other night).

As part of the masses, I resent having anyone think for me, and I particularly don't want Larry King doing it.

This country was founded on opportunity. Teddy Roosevelt thought our national symbol should be the grizzly bear.

When you think about what this country used to be and the independence of its people, you get the sense that we are losing our way.

If you put a cast on a limb, it will atrophy. People are the same way. If you want steel, you apply heat. People are that way also.

This country was proud and independent and just a little arrogant.

We thought and believed that we could do anything, and for the most part that was true but most of all we tried. We failed and got up and started again. Nowhere in our past do we ever see equality.

Some are better than others, that is the way of the herd. We are all part of a giant bell curve.

Our people understood this and benefited from it. You saw an ever larger middle class and more people at the top.

Then we had the Great Depression and government with its lack of comprehension as to what was good for people started something that has dragged us down from its inception.

They began wealth redistribution and started proving to people that maybe, just maybe, they didn't need to try so hard.

The government would be there to soften the blow when and if it fell.

The war on poverty has cost the black race dearly. They will spend years, if ever, in pulling themselves out of the mess they find themselves in.

Liberalism, socialism and the redistribution of wealth has put all of us up to our necks in a social sewer that none of us like. We know what the solution is, but do we have the will and the courage to begin?
