Saugus Zone 4 Crime Report: assault investigated

Good afternoon Saugus. This week we had 4 Part-1 crimes reported in the Saugus area. The first was an assault which occurred near the corner of Newhall Ranch Road/Bouquet Canyon Road on March 29th. The victim was driving through the parking lot when he heard something strike his vehicle. When he looked out his window he saw a male attempt to strike him with a blunt object. The suspect fled the location prior to the deputies’ arrival.

An attempt residential burglary to a vacant house was reported in the 22800 block of Barbacoa Drive on March 28th. It was discovered that an item was stolen from the outside of the residence. After further investigation deputies learned that someone attempted to force entry into the residence but was unsuccessful.

We had two shoplifts over the past week. The first was from Albertsons, 27631 Bouquet Canyon Road, on March 27th. An employee witnessed two suspects concealing items. When the suspects were contacted by store employees they fled the location. Santa Clarita Detectives are actively working the case.

The second shoplift occurred at CVS, 26550 Bouquet Canyon Road, on March 28th. A female was arrested for stealing multiple items from the business.

There were multiple arrests made over the past week. The arrests include assault, narcotics, conspiracy, DUI, theft and receiving stolen property.
