Another AMG project, the Chino Basin Water Conservation District project was completed in 2013. AMG served as construction manager for the $9 million building program.

AMG & Associates Inc. of Santa Clarita has recently won four multi-million dollar contracts, the company announced Thursday.

Named as General Contractor, AMG secured a $3.411 million contract for the renovations of an existing facility owned by the city of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.

When finished, the building located at the Hansen Dam Recreation Center in Pacoima will be the Discovery Science Center Los Angeles. The science center will be a sister project to the Discovery center in Orange County.

The Discovery Science Center Los Angeles will be the first major museum in the San Fernando Valley, with the mission to educate and inspire young people through science-based exhibits and programs that focus on science, technology, engineering, and math – STEM- proficiency; environmental stewardship; early learning; and healthy living.

The science center is expected to serve 180,000 visitors, 20,000 students on field trips, and 75,000 students through offsite outreach programs in its first year. The center will reportedly also create more than 100 full- and part-time jobs.

AMG also serves as the general contractor for the construction of The Pacoima Entrepreneur Center funded by the Valley Economic Development Center.

The $3.416 million project, designed to be a center for local community service and business training, is also located in Pacoima.

The project is comprised of three stories, 13,895 square feet, new landscaping and parking.

Two other recent projects include one from the Compton Community College District, a $9.608 million contract for the demolition of the district’s Allied Health Building, and the construction of a brand new facility.

The other project is the Lennox Middle School District. AMG was awarded a $1.907 million contract for the Lennox Middle School Sound Attenuation Project in Lennox, California. AMG will remove hazardous material, acoustical window and door assemblies; build the project on the on school grounds.

“We proudly embrace these new opportunities to serve the broader Los Angeles region,” said Albert Giacomazzi, AMG’s president and CEO.

“It’s very gratifying to play a critical role in projects that provide such enduring benefits—from the aesthetic and environmental enhancements they offer to the outstanding community resources they will continue to be for generations,” he said.
