Consumers, take charge of the billboard issue

I fail to see what all the billboard hullabaloo is about. It’s obvious these vast slabs of advertising are a visual blight.

No debate.

But why the discussion of trading a few of the abominations for others? Even worse, why do we turn to government to mediate for us?

Advertisers aim their garbage at us, the consumer. The battle is between them and us — no need for a third party, like the City Council, to intervene.

The answer? Everyone should boycott those who pollute our roads.

Perhaps a favorite retailer of yours may erect one of those hideous signs. So speak to them and encourage their civic responsibility.

Simple. No hullabaloo. Take charge.
