LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles police say an officer has been wounded while responding to a domestic dispute at a home in the Hollywood Hills.

Sgt. Barry Montgomery says the nature and severity of the injury is not immediately known.

Montgomery says several officers responded to a domestic battery report shortly after 8 a.m. Monday on a residential street near Laurel Canyon.

He says a female officer suffered injuries during an altercation and was rushed to a hospital.

Officer Lyle Knight says a suspect is believed to be holed up inside a hillside home there.

A SWAT team is on the scene.

Fire Department spokeswoman Katherine Main says a total of two patients have been transported to hospitals. She has no information on their conditions or connections to the incident.
