The city of Santa Clarita's Community Center will host a "Neighborhood Clean-Up Project" on Saturday, April 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

More than 60 youth and adult Community Center program members will volunteer to remove graffiti and clean up alleys and streets in East Newhall.

The Neighborhood Clean-Up Project is held in conjunction with the city of Santa Clarita's Pride Week, which allows Newhall Community Center youth to give back to the community. The annual event gives local residents and Community Center members the opportunity to take an active part in keeping their neighborhood clean.

"Pride Week gives residents the opportunity to volunteer to beautify streets, parks, schools and other areas around the city," said Mayor Frank Ferry. "The Neighborhood Clean-Up Project gives local youth the chance to join in on the process, which instills a sense of community pride in our local kids."

The city's Community Center positively impacts Santa Clarita by providing enriching opportunities for youth in a fun and safe environment. The Clean-Up will take place at the East Newhall neighborhood immediately adjacent to the Community Center on Market Street, Race Street, Pine Street and Arch Street.

The Newhall Community Center is located at 22421 Market Street.
