A fire that erupted near Gorman on Friday was 65 percent contained Saturday after burning a little over 100 acres, a Fire Department spokesman said.

No homes were reported destroyed or damaged and no injuries were reported in the blaze that broke out Friday afternoon off Highway 138, the spokesman said.

Estimates put the charred brush at 150 acres Friday evening, but the spokesman said Saturday the actual acreage burned was just a little over 100.

About 75 firefighters remained on the fire line late Saturday morning, and there was no estimate as to the time of full containment.

Smoke from the Gorman-area fire was visible in the Santa Clarita Valley on Friday afternoon.
