A person was injured and taken to the hospital Wednesday after a car crashed into a light standard.

Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department were dispatched to the intersection of Copper Hill Drive and Tamarack Lane for reports of a car into a pole around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, said a Fire Department spokesman.

“We received the call as a car versus pole,” he said. “One person was taken to hospital.”

The identity, age and gender of the patient were not disclosed.

At the intersection, responding firefighters found a downed light standard on top of a silver-colored Volkswagen Passat.

A downed speed limit sign was also found near the crash site.
