Campaign blight

During each City Council election cycle the citizens of Santa Clarita are subjected to a plethora of campaign blight on public property created by candidates who are asking for voters to entrust them to represent their interests in our beautiful community.

I applaud the current City Council for voting to remove commercial blight along Railroad Avenue and Soledad Canyon Road and also for choosing to not clutter the new roundabout in Newhall with needless artwork.

However, one candidate for City Council apparently has little concern for the aesthetics of Santa Clarita, specifically Newhall. I’m attaching photos taken on Thursday afternoon that show two Alan Ferdman campaign signs located in the landscaping of the Newhall roundabout. Is this the type of blight that citizens should condone during a City Council campaign?

Perhaps when Signal photographers are out and about taking photographs for local news stories they could also take, and publish, photos of campaign signs which are improperly displayed on public property.
