There wasn’t much The Master’s College couldn’t do in its 73-52 rout of defending national champion Westmont in the semifinal of the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament.

All-conference senior Jacquelyn Marshall had another big game, scoring 20 points and pulling down 18 rebounds.

“I’m focusing on rebounding and passing out right now,” said Marshall. “Shooting is probably the last option right now because teams will collapse and I can find my teammates. They make my job easy.”

The Mustangs (24-7) dominated the painted area, outrebounding the Warriors 51-41 and outscoring them 26-10 in points in the paint.

A Marshall layup gave TMC a 34-23 lead with 45 seconds to play in the first half and from there the Mustangs never looked back.

In the second half, TMC opened up a 20-point gap with 16 minutes to play that Westmont couldn’t cut down.

Megan Lindsley was the next highest scorer for TMC with 17 and Whitney Best had a team-high six assists.

The Mustangs move into the finals where they will face Hope International at site to be determined on Tuesday.

Hope beat Vanguard 80-76 on Friday.

TMC has won both contests against Hope this year.
