Deputies were pursuing two suspects who committed a robbery in the parking lot in front of a 7-11 convenience store in Saugus shortly after 9:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

Both suspects - one Hispanic and one African-American - were male and approximately 30 years old. The robbery took place at the 7-11 located on the corner of Bouquet Canyon Road and Urbandale Avenue.

One of the suspects reportedly demanded money and threatened a bystander with an automatic, 22-caliber pistol. According to officials, the suspect pointed the pistol at the bystander's head before she complied and handed over an unascertained amount of cash.

Both suspects allegedly fled the convenience store in a black Ford Expedition.

Immediately after the burglary was reported to deputies, they pursued the suspects, who apparently fled west on Urbandale Avenue.

The pursuit was ongoing as of 10:15 p.m., and the suspects' last known whereabouts was near Seco Canyon Road and Copper Hill Drive.

As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, no arrests had been made.
