For the third time in a two-month period, vandals broke into a Castaic Union School District classroom and trashed it, according to a report on file at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station on Sunday.

The vandals used a fire extinguisher to coat school floors with its powder in a classroom at Castaic Middle School, then squirted glue and dumped blue paint and boxes of Cheerios cereal onto the floor.

“When I entered the classroom, I saw that there was shaving cream sprayed all over the school desks and floors,” the deputy wrote. “There was also a box of Cheerios cereal dumped onto the floor, as well as ‘Elmer’s Glue’ bottles opened and dumped onto the desks and floor.

“The suspects also removed the fire extinguisher from the wall and sprayed the extinguisher powder onto the floor and walls,” he said. “The suspects also drew a ‘penis’ onto a chair and desk top using blue water colored paint.”

The vandalism occurred some time between 11 p.m. Feb. 21 and 6 a.m. Feb. 24.

On the weekend of Dec. 21, vandals trashed Castaic Elementary School, also using a fire extinguisher, district spokeswoman Lisa Bloom said.

And on the weekend of Jan. 25, they trashed the special education preschool classroom on the campus of Castaic Middle School, she said.
