A Santa Clarita Transit bus was evacuated in Canyon Country on Monday after a “stink bomb” was set off inside it, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the bus on Soledad Canyon Road and Oak Springs Canyon Road shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, Fire Department Inspector Anthony Akins said.

Although paramedics found “no fire, no smoke, no smell,” Akins said, initial reports of a noxious odor were enough to prompt the evacuation.

Santa Clarita city spokeswoman Gail Morgan confirmed the incident on the Route 6 transit bus in Canyon Country.

“The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriffs’ Department is handling the matter, which is believed to be a student prank,” she said.

No one was hurt in the incident.
