Would-be kidnapper Cesar Galvan pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping Wednesday and will face sentencing on May 22.

Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies arrested Galvan, 27, of Palmdale, on May 6, 2008, one week after he tried to kidnap a then-15-year-old girl from a bus stop near the corner of Soledad Canyon and Camp Plenty roads.

Galvan approached the girl, who was seated on a bus stop bench at the corner, on April 29, 2008. Galvan asked her some questions and then tried to pull her from the bench.

The victim fended off Galvan by kicking him. This caused Galvan to flee.

He was arrested when he returned to the same corner a week later.

Galvan’s sentencing is scheduled for May 22 in San Fernando Superior Court.
