A juvenile who may be connected to as many as 19 separate tagging incidents in the Santa Clarita Valley, including 11 businesses vandalized in the early morning hours on Wednesday, was arrested Wednesday.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a 16-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld, for felony vandalism on the corner of Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway in Canyon Country at 4 a.m. Wednesday.

“Deputies found paint cans on the suspect during their investigation,” Lt. Brenda Cambra said.

The vandal scrawled gang-related tags on the 11 businesses on the corner of Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway Wednesday morning, Cambra said. Sheriff’s deputies matched the most recent tags to as many as eight more tags in the SCV, she said.

The accused tagger was charged with felony vandalism and released to his parents, Cambra said. A court date has not been set, she said.
