Deputies ask for help in hit-and-run

Santa Clarita Valley sheriff's deputies are looking for witnesses to a Friday night traffic collision that sent a pedestrian to the hospital in critical condition.

A GMC Sierra truck traveling westbound on Lyons Avenue in Newhall struck a pedestrian just east of the Orchard Village Road intersection at approximately 6:45 p.m. Friday, according to a Sheriff's Station press release.

The victim was transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in critical condition, according to a Sheriff's Station press release. Sheriff's deputies are withholding the name pending family notification.

Deputies are urging anyone with information to contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
