Two-year-old Shae Rebel is believed to be with her father Jesse Rebel, possibly in North Dakota.

The mother of a 2-year-old girl missing more than two months in an apparent abduction by the girl’s father said she’s worried new information about the case might prompt him to hurt her.

“I don’t want any information getting out there that would make him do anything to hurt her,” said the woman, speaking on the doorstep of her Castaic home Thursday about the abduction of her daughter, Shae Rebel.

Asked what information she would like to convey in helping find her daughter, she said: “Just what’s published on the National Center for Missing (and Exploited) Children website.”

The website, devoted to helping find missing children, describes Shae Rebel as a blond blue-eyed girl about 3 feet tall and weighing 26 pounds.

“She may be in the company of her father, Jesse Rebel,” the website reads, describing him as a 31-year-old white man with brown hair and blue eyes, 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds.

About two weeks ago, detectives at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station revealed they are actively searching for the girl and her father.

Shae Rebel was first reported missing at 4:50 p.m. on Nov. 21, Deputy Josh Dubin said at the time. “It’s being investigated as a parental abduction (and) missing person’s report,” he said.

On Thursday, Lt. Steve Low of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station detectives bureau confirmed that detectives are still looking for the missing girl and her father.

The missing person’s center also said Jesse Rebel may have taken his daughter to North Dakota.

Anyone with information on Shae Rebel’s whereabouts is encouraged to call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121 or call 911.
