SANTA CLARITA - A 60-year-old man accused of killing his wife in their Canyon Country condo, then walking into his sister’s convalescent hospital room and killing her in her bed, pleaded not guilty to two counts of murder Monday.

Lance Holger Anderson appeared in San Fernando Superior Court for arraignment and pleaded not guilty to both murders, said District Attorney’s spokeswoman Shiara Dávila-Morales.

A preliminary hearing date was to be set Feb. 27.

Anderson was arrested Dec. 11 after allegedly shooting his sister, 58-year-old Lisa Florence Nave, at a North Hills convalescent hospital on Dec. 11.

Upon hearing of Anderson’s arrest, Nave’s family requested a welfare check on his wife, LAPD Lt. Paul Vernon said. Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s deputies found his wife, Bertha, dead in the couple’s rented Claudette Street condominium, apparently shot the day before. She also suffered from a medical condition, according to reports.

Anderson remains in custody without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility, according to the sheriff’s Inmate Information Center.
