SANTA CLARITA - A woman was injured and taken to the hospital this morning following a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 near Calgrove Boulevard, a local fire station captain said.

Shortly before 8 a.m. Monday, a white Subaru Outback SUV was reportedly rear-ended while traveling south on the freeway near Calgrove, according to the California Highway Patrol.

“One female was transported to the hospital,” said Los Angeles County Fire Captain Daryl Goulet of Fire Station 124, describing the Subaru driver’s injuries as moderate.

The California Highway Patrol received calls from several people reporting a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 just north of the Highway 14 off-ramp.

The crash involved at least two other vehicles, including a flatbed truck loaded with about 40,000 pounds of material and a red Honda Accord that sustained moderate front-end damage, a CHP official said.
