Glorious spring! How can you not have a smile on your face when you see the beautiful hills covered in lush green and the flowering trees in full bloom?

Kudos to SCV Man and Woman of the Year nominees
A "Paparazzi Party" to honor the 2009 Santa Clarita Valley Man and Woman of the Year nominees was held Thursday evening at the home of Carl and Jeri Seratti Goldman in Sand Canyon.

It was a full house that turned out to pay tribute to this year's outstanding field of eight men and 15 women nominated by nonprofits from across the SCV. Nominated for Man of the Year (and nominating organization): Greg Amsler (Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Foundation); Chris Ball (Rotary); Kerry Carmody (Leukemia & Lymphoma Society); Wayne Crawford (Carousel Ranch and Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Foundation); Rick Patterson (Hart Facilities Foundation and SCV Committee on Aging); Craig Peters (SCV Boys & Girls Club); Tom Schmidt (Elks) and Steve Sturgeon (Child and Family Center Foundation). Miss SCV Pageant May 15
The 29th annual Miss SCV Pageant will be held Friday, May 15. And for the first time ever, there will be an after party until midnight. The pageant is still accepting applications. Interested applicants can attend a meeting today 6:30 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, 17766 Sierra Highway, Canyon Country. Program Director Mardi Rivetti encourages applicants to bring a friend. Cheer for the Reynoso family
The Reynoso family of Santa Clarita are ready to battle for a win when they play against The Harden Family of Los Angeles on the nationally syndicated "Family Feud," beginning on Wednesday, April 1. The game show where contestants must guess the most popular answers to survey questions posed to 100 people in order to win airs Monday-Friday at 6 p.m. on KCAL (Channel 9).

The Reynoso family includes Maria, a board game champion; sister Veronica, a mom to twins; brother-in-law Jay, an aircraft manager; sister-in-law Karina, a sports fanatic and brother Oscar, a rental equipment driver.
